Program Description
This program exceeds current Federal and State regulations providing classroom and on-the-road training for Class A combination vehicles. This 12 credit training course is offered each quarter for students to gain the required knowledge and skills in order to prepare for the Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).Program Prerequisites:
- Prior to the start of the course, students must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have met the Department of Transportation's certified physical and drug test requirements
- Carry a valid driver's license from the state in which the student resides
- Obtain a motor vehicle or valid driving record for the last three-year period
Program Learning Outcomes
- Understand Federal Motor Carrier Safety Admiration Regulations and how to resource them.
- Have knowledge of state laws required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
- Gain knowledge to pass Washington State written exams required to obtain commercial learners permit.
- Understand fundamentals of professional truck driving.
- Become proficient at skills required to pass commercial driver's license skills test.
- Knowledge of vehicle inspection related to the cost of breakdowns.
