Program Description

This program exceeds current Federal and State regulations providing classroom and on-the-road training for Class A combination vehicles. This 12 credit training course is offered each quarter for students to gain the required knowledge and skills in order to prepare for the Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand Federal Motor Carrier Safety Admiration Regulations and how to resource them.
  2. Have knowledge of state laws required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
  3. Gain knowledge to pass Washington State written exams required to obtain commercial learners permit.
  4. Understand fundamentals of professional truck driving.
  5. Become proficient at skills required to pass commercial driver's license skills test.
  6. Knowledge of vehicle inspection related to the cost of breakdowns.
